Minecraft Bedrock 26.41/42/43 Hotfix: Crashes Fixed, Cloud Storage Paused on Windows

By SNT Gaming · 2026-08-11 · updatesbedrockreleaseparentsplayers

What Changed

On 10 August 2026, a rolling hotfix landed across Bedrock Edition platforms under version numbers 26.41, 26.42, and 26.43 (the version number you see depends on your platform and when it was approved in your store). Three things were addressed:

Because store approvals happen at different speeds on different platforms, don't worry if the update hasn't landed on your device yet, it's on its way.

Why It Matters

Hotfixes like this one are small but important. Crashes interrupt play sessions and can occasionally corrupt world data if they happen at the wrong moment, so getting them patched quickly is a genuine quality-of-life win. The missing-assets bug was particularly nasty because it was tied to something as unpredictable as a momentary network hiccup, exactly the kind of thing that happens on a family Wi-Fi network.

The cloud storage pause on Windows is worth watching. If you or your child saves worlds to the cloud on a Windows PC, those worlds won't sync until the feature is re-enabled. Your local saves are completely safe, only the sync feature is paused, not the worlds themselves.

Java and Bedrock

This hotfix is Bedrock Edition only. Java Edition is unaffected and received no changes alongside this release. If your household mixes Java and Bedrock players, only the Bedrock side needs attention right now.

For Server Owners

If you run your own Bedrock-native server infrastructure, the cloud storage change is server-side irrelevant, cloud world sync is a client-side feature. The crash fixes, however, are worth celebrating: fewer client crashes mean fewer "why did I get kicked?" support tickets from your players. Make sure your players know the update is rolling out so they aren't puzzled by a version mismatch if some devices update before others.

For Parents

A couple of practical things to keep in mind this week:

For Players

Good news: those random crashes you may have been experiencing should be gone after this update. If you play on a Windows PC and were used to having your worlds sync to the cloud, you'll notice that feature is switched off for now, Mojang is working on a fix, so hang tight. Everything you've built is still right there on your PC, safe and sound. Just don't delete your local saves thinking the cloud has them backed up until the feature comes back online!

Do SNT Kingdoms Need an Update?

No action is needed on SNT kingdoms, and there are no disruptions to your server experience. Here's why:

We're actively monitoring the PaperMC, Velocity, and Geyser projects for 26.x compatibility milestones. The moment a stable, tested migration path is available, we'll schedule the upgrade and notify all kingdom owners in advance. As always, your worlds, progress, and data are fully managed, you won't need to do a thing.
